Safe Work Practices

Safe Work Practices training is for workers required to work on and operate high voltage assets. This course is important in understanding compliance, approved processes and worker safety in line with regulations. This course is offered as both initial and refresher training.

Introduction:

Businesses that own and operate high voltage assets connected to distribution networks must comply with the Electricity Supply (Safety & Network Management Plans) Regulation 2014, the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Section 7 of the Service and Installation Rules NSW 2016.

PAYMENT
Invoices will be sent to participants after completion of the course.

LOCATION
Essential Energy has purpose built training facilities across it's network. Specific workshop location information is available in the session information section below.

EQUIPMENT
Participants are required to bring their ID, a pen and personal protective equipment to the course:
  • Work clothes, work boots,safety helmet (less than 2 years old), high visibility clothing or vest.
  • No open shoes are permitted.
  • Participants who are not appropriately attired may be asked to leave the training venue.
CURRENCY
Typically the safe work practices course is refreshed every 24 months or as determined by the private network owner. To be eligible for refresher assessments, attendees should be able to provide evidence of previous assessment with Essential Energy or another Registered Training Organisation.

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be received five working days prior to workshop or applicable charges may apply. Essential Energy reserves the right to reschedule any course if insufficient enrolments are received.
Workshops may be cancelled up to 4 weeks prior. Should this occur, participants will be notified. Essential Energy will not be held liable for any claims arising from course cancellation.

Please note catering is not supplied.

Target Audience:

Electrically qualified persons who are required to operate privately owned electrical networks.

Participants undertaking this course must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number.

Learning Outcomes:

  • On completion of this workshop you will be able to satisfactorily demonstrate currency of Nationally recognised Refresher Unit UETTDRRF09

Learning Methods:

  • Trainer led presentation and group discussions, permit issue demonstration, written assessment and practical scenario.

Program Benefits:

  • Following successful completion of the training, participants will be issued a statement of attainment for UETTDRRF09 - Apply Access Procedures to Work on or Near Electrical Network Infrastructure. This will be sent via post.
