Rescue from LV Switchboards

Essential Energy's commitment to a safe environment to work on or near our network includes training in Low Voltage (LV) rescue and resuscitation. This workshop addresses the knowledge, skills and responsibilities of persons attending work on energised low voltage switchboards and panels.

Introduction:

This workshop is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills of basic low voltage electrical safety necessary for rescuing and resuscitating persons suffering from electrocution/shocks.

$1800
(plus travel and accommodation if required)

PAYMENT
Invoices will be sent to participants after completion of the course.

EQUIPMENT
Participants are required to bring their ID, a pen and personal protective equipment to the course:
  • Work clothes, work boots,safety helmet (less than 2 years old), high visibility clothing or vest.
  • No open shoes are permitted.
  • Participants who are not appropriately attired may be asked to leave the training venue.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be received five working days prior to workshop or applicable charges may apply. Essential Energy reserves the right to reschedule any course if insufficient enrolments are received.
Workshops may be cancelled up to 4 weeks prior. Should this occur, participants will be notified. Essential Energy will not be held liable for any claims arising from course cancellation.

CATERING
Please note catering is not supplied.

Target Audience:

  1. Switchboard Rescue is important for electricity supply workers undertaking work in the vicinity of network infrastructure.
  2. Roles which require workers to perform rescue from a live LV panel including conducting CPR.

Learning Outcomes:

  • HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • UETDRMP007 - Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel

Learning Methods:

  • Awareness and information session with combined written and scenario based practical assessment for both Units of Competency.

Program Benefits:
